Welcome to Van Nest! We want to thank you for taking the time to check us out online. We hope you take the next step and visit us in person as our special guest. This page will help you answer the common questions you may have about your upcoming visit to one of our Sunday worship services.
We have five services on Sunday. Our first service starts at 8:30am and goes until 9:45am. The second service is 10:00am to 11:15am. Our Sunday School Classes are also at this time. The third service is 11:30am to 1:15pm. Our Afertoon service is 4:00pm to 6:00pm and the Evening service is 7:00pm to 8:45pm. On Friday evenings from 8:00pm to 10:00pm we have Family Night which has classes for all ages.
You’ll find individuals of every age, background, and economic status united under the banner of Jesus Christ. You’ll find no perfect people here. You will find authentic men and women who are being transformed by the power of the Gospel, and long to see you experience the same joy that we have.
We suggest you arrive about fifteen (15) minutes before our services begin. This would give you plenty of time to find a convenient parking place, check out our children’s ministry area and find the perfect seat in the Sanctuary.
While casual dress is the norm at Van Nest Assembly, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. For some people normal is a dress or suit and for others it’s jeans and a tee-shirt. The point is that we are gathering together to worship and honor the Lord.
We know that as a parent you need to be sure that your children are in a safe and secure learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached. Our children’s ministry volunteers love working with children, and it shows! We offer Sunday School at 10:00am for all ages, Children’s Church on Sunday at 11:30am and programs for all ages on Friday Night from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.
At Van Nest, you will both hear and see a worship experience. This experience is expressed through music of all styles. You will see people passionately expressing their heart of worship through dance (Psalm 149:3), raising their hands (Psalm 63:4,134:2), clapping (Psalm 47:1), bowing (Phil 3:19), freely singing both the written (Psalm 4:1) and unwritten song (Psalm 98:1), and even shouting (Psalm 47:1) and jumping (Psalm 18:29) with exuberance in praise before Him. Although it is all expressed in beautiful order (1 Cor 14:40), it is a time where we are captivated by our living God and the joy of knowing Him (Ephesians 3:14-21)!
Our pastors give easy-to-understand, practical messages from the Bible that will help you deal with real life issues. In other words, each week you’ll be able to use something that you’ve heard in the message. We want to help you connect with the personal hope and practical help that God gives us in the Bible.
We are a church who loves God and loves people. We are committed to communicating the grace of God in ways that people can understand. Our church is a member of the Assemblies of God
, and enjoy a diverse relational network across denominational lines. We’re not in competition with any other church because we’re all on the same team. We believe and teach the Bible to the best of our ability.
